I caught this mullberry wing butterfly lunching on some purpletop vervain. They’re so small for a butterfly! I assumed it was a moth before I looked it up.

More dragonfly chasing… These mating green darner dragonflies were zooming all around the pond together for quite a while. They landed a few times when the female (in the back) would dip her abdomen in the water to release the fertilized eggs.

Gulf Fritillary Butterfly
This colorful beauty was my favorite of the butterflies I saw at the Olbrich Gardens Blooming Butterflies exhibit. I like to think they were looking back at me with the same fascination I had for them.
