Wrapped with a bow

Red, green, and yellow streaks of light arise from behind a line of trees into a star filled sky.

At one point during Friday night’s sky show, there were ribbons of light that went all the way from the south-east to north-west horizons. It was as if the world was wrapped up in a big colorful bow.

Streaks of green and red light run diagonally across a starry sky.

  1. What great photos from both your posts! Some friends here in Lafayette IN were able to see this as well, unusual for this location. We were not able to see it though but was certainly worth a try. Thanks for sharing your amazing photos.

  2. Thanks for the kinds words Chris! I was so glad I made an effort to drive a ways away from Madison to get away from the light pollution. I wonder if city light was the problem where you were? It also seemed the most intense for me around 1:30am or so (I stayed out pretty late that night).
