Biking a new trail

July 1, 2024Bicycling, LandscapeJonathan

A straight section of a boardwalk trail extends into the distance under a blue sky. A few trees and a marsh can be seen on either side of the boardwalk.

It’s not “officially” open, but the county removed the construction barricades from the second phase of the Lower Yahara River trail, and I rode it yesterday for the first time.

A paved recreational trail curves trough a section of trees and tall foliage.

A curved section of a boardwalk trail leads around a grove of trees under a blue sky.

The new section runs from Fish Camp County Park in McFarland to Lake Kegonsa State Park.

A long section of a boardwalk trail curves along a pool of water next to some marsh grasses. Trees and a tower supporting electrical wires are in the background.

What a great addition! I’m looking forward to it being connected to the other part of the trail along Lake Farm County Park (which is in the long-term plan).

A paved recreational trail leads past a few tall trees and other foliage. In the background is a blue sky with a few clouds.
