A few photos from last night’s aurora borealis, taken from Token Creek County Park.
The colors were much more muted with the naked eye. I saw faint green, and maybe a touch of very light red at times. However the camera picked up much more vivid colors that I couldn’t see.

I liked each photo of the borealis – especially the second one with the very red and green shades. Your photos tell me it was worth doing even though costed some sleep, Thanks. for sharing.
I definitely needed a nap today. But you’re right, it was very worth doing. Thanks so much for the comment.
Sarah & I went out to Feske Park. Pretty much the same for us, faint green swatches, but worth the time. She tried to take some pictures also, but they came out very dark. We had some problems trying to set the camera shutter to long and the apeture to wide. Your pictures are great. Your third picture was closest to what we saw. Did you process them at all?
Thank you! It’s not easy taking pics like these, can take a lot of adjusting and experimenting. I found about 20 second exposure was best, along with low ISO and an open aperture. I almost always adjust the levels on my photos (making the darks darker, and the lights lighter). That’s all I did with these.
