Looking for raindrops
Getting photos of raindrops isn’t that hard. You just have to wait until they land on something.
Autumn inside the forest
Kathleen Edwards at the Majestic
The other night I went to see one of my favorite artists, Kathleen Edwards, perform at the Majestic Theatre in Madison.
It was a fantastic show.
Grounded maple leaf
Cirrus clouds over Door County
The day I climbed the tower in Peninsula State Park last week, the sight of the clouds in the sky were just as interesting as the vistas of the Lake Michigan shore.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse
Peninsula State Park’s Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, one of the many historic lighthouses still standing in Door County.
It’s now a museum run by the local historical society.
The bike trails of Peninsula State Park
Last week I was camping at Peninsula State Park. I just love the network of bike trails there.
Using the trails (and bike lanes along the road) you can take in almost every terrain the park has to offer.
Hillside full of goldenrod
While I love the deep yellow color of all this goldenrod in one place, I can’t help but think of my allergy laden sinuses and wonder how long it will be until the first frost.
Update: Goldenrod is not the cause of seasonal allergies this time of year! Details in my post from September 22, 2022.
A lesson in patience
Yesterday evening, I biked to Tenney Park to watch the sunset. I hung around a bit after the sun dropped below the horizon, and started to head home.
Two blocks away from the lake shore, I noticed the light show above was still peaking. I got off my bike, and took a few more shots by the lagoon.
