I love the look of the ornamental grasses this time of year. They make for a beautiful walk through Olbrich Botanical Gardens even during late fall/early winter.

Afternoon sunset
Pretty good sunset over Lake Monona this evening. Although, when the sun goes down at 4:27pm, it seems more appropriate to call it an afternoon sunset.
This is November
A quintessential November scene. Bare trees, grey skies, and the sun hanging low. In related news, I’m currently fighting back my inner-animal’s hibernating instinct.
Autumnal snow
Just a day after the snow melted away this weekend, we got another 3 inches on Monday. I wonder what this unusually snowy (and cold!) autumn says about our winter-to-come?
Leaves revealed
Yesterday’s sunshine cleaned up the snow that was on the ground, revealing an early November ground cover that’s a little more common.
A premature winter
This past week or so, we’ve had 25 degree below normal temperatures and three days of snow accumulation (totaling over 12 inches). This morning’s temp was 9(f)! Too soon Winter, too soon.
